AML Policy

Last updated: 21/10/2025

1. Purpose and Commitment

At equicom online s.r.o. (“equicom”, “the company”), we are committed to promoting integrity, transparency, and trust in all aspects of our operations.
Our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) Policy reflects our core belief: we support everything that strengthens a fair and responsible financial environment, and we stand firmly against any misuse of financial systems for illegal or unethical purposes.

This policy has been established in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations of the Czech Republic, the European Union, and the international standards set by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

2. Scope of Application

This policy applies to all users of the equicom platform, including both individual and institutional clients.
Every member of our community shares responsibility for ensuring that our services are used lawfully, ethically, and transparently.

Where local regulations impose stricter AML/KYC requirements than those outlined here, those stricter standards will prevail.
This policy is governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Czech Republic.

3. Our Principles

Our approach to AML and KYC is built around a few simple but essential principles:

  • Integrity: We act honestly, responsibly, and with respect for the law.

  • Transparency: We know our customers and ensure our operations are open and traceable.

  • Security: We safeguard our platform against misuse, fraud, and criminal activity.

  • Privacy: We respect and protect user information, sharing it only when required by law.

  • Continuous Improvement: We regularly review and adapt our systems to reflect new risks and regulatory developments.

4. Customer Identification and Verification (KYC)

Before accessing equicom services, users must complete a Customer Due Diligence (CDD) process.
This typically includes providing:

  • Full name

  • Date of birth

  • Nationality

  • Residential address

  • A valid government-issued identification document (e.g., passport or ID card)

We may verify this information through secure electronic verification tools or trusted third-party providers.
For users or transactions that present higher risk, we apply Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) measures, which may involve additional verification or documentation.

5. Risk Assessment and Monitoring

We use a risk-based approach to identify and manage potential threats.
Customers and transactions are assessed based on their activity, volume, geographic exposure, and source of funds.

We continuously monitor for unusual or suspicious patterns.
Higher-risk users are subject to enhanced monitoring and periodic reviews to ensure continued compliance.

6. Reporting and Cooperation

If we identify suspicious activity, equicom will promptly report it to the competent authorities in the Czech Republic, in full accordance with national and EU law.
We maintain an open and cooperative relationship with law enforcement and regulatory agencies to prevent and combat financial crime.

7. Data Protection and Confidentiality

Protecting user data is one of our highest priorities.
All personal information is handled in accordance with applicable privacy regulations, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
We store data securely and disclose it only when required by law or authorized regulatory requests.

8. Compliance Oversight

A dedicated Compliance Department is responsible for overseeing the implementation of this policy and ensuring that equicom remains fully compliant with applicable laws and international AML/KYC standards.
The Compliance Department also reviews and updates this policy as needed to reflect regulatory or operational changes.

9. Staff Awareness and Training

All relevant employees receive regular AML/KYC training to ensure they understand their legal obligations and ethical responsibilities.
This helps our team remain vigilant and proactive in detecting and preventing potential risks.

10. User Responsibilities

Users are expected to act with honesty and transparency.
They must not share, lend, or sell their accounts or identification documents.
If suspicious or unlawful activity is detected, equicom may suspend or terminate accounts and report such activity to the appropriate authorities.

11. Our Philosophy

In essence, equicom online s.r.o. stands for everything good — honesty, fairness, and security —
and stands against everything bad — fraud, abuse, and financial crime.

By upholding these values, we aim to provide a safe, transparent, and ethical environment for all our users and partners.
